To ensure a successful release, Irish-American pubs have come together in support of the upcoming film Red Roses and Petrol. Starting in March, pubs in each of the US release cities — Los Angeles, New York, Boston, and Chicago — have generously offered to help promote the film by distributing postcards, participating in table-top advertising, and even reaching out to customers via their mailing lists. Names of the pubs will be forthcoming so that Red Roses and Petrol supporters can come out and celebrate the movie along with St. Patrick’s Day.

Looks like Red Roses and Petrol’s producers aren’t the only ones this side of the pond who’ve become aware of star Max Beesley’s talent. There is talk in Hollywood that the mesmerizing British actor has been cast in the upcoming season of FOX’s 24! The series, which postponed its return due to the ongoing writers strike, will eventually be back with day seven of the ongoing saga of counter-terrorist agent Jack Bauer. Red Roses and Petrol wouldn’t be the same without the memorable music that sets the film’s tone. The woman behind some of the tunes, Susanna Hoffs, performs with The Bangles — the 80s girl group with whom she had a string of hits — next month. The tour kicks off on Las Vegas’ famed Fremont Street on New Year’s Eve. Next they’re off to New Orleans where they will help celebrate Carnival at the Magical, Mystical Family Gras event along the Mississippi River from January 25-27, followed by a January 29 show at Baton Rouge’s legendary Varsity Theater in Louisiana. Finally, The Bangles are off to Austin, Texas, where they’ll sing at the famed La Zona Rosa venue on January 31.
