Red Roses and Petrol’s Los Angeles opening celebration is here, and according to the RSVP list, it’s going to be a packed house! Joining the World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation staff and board members Friday night will be friends, family, the international press, industry executives, paparazzi, a bagpipe player representing the Los Angeles chapter of The Emerald Society, and oh yes… the cast! Reported to be attending are Malcolm McDowell, Olivia Tracey, Heather Juergensen, Greg Ellis, Aubrey Morris, and Robert Easton. We will also be looking forward to some words from the film’s beloved director, Tamar Simon Hoffs, and WWMPC President/CEO, Paul Hancock. WWMPC would also like to take this opportunity to announce that the Emerald Societies for New York and Illinois have also officially come on board to lend their support to this Irish-American film. Here’s to a successful opening weekend!

McDowell’s interview for The New York Daily News and The New York Times (for syndication) and Tracey’s for Irish Connections and The Irish Examiner will be seen shortly in print. Additionally, McDowell’s radio interview about his experience making the movie will heard on WCKX (Chicago), KLKX (Los Angeles), WHUD (New York) and WAAF (Boston). After his successful run on the BBC’s HOTEL BABYLON, Red Roses and Petrol’s Max Beesley is set to star in a new drama. When he returns to the BBC, he’ll star on SURVIVORS, an action adventure show about a deadly virus that infiltrates the world’s population. In the series, which is a re-imagining of the classic mid-70s cult favorite (and similar to A&E’s THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN) Beesley plays Tom Price, a charming, capable prisoner for whom freedom and survival become paramount. A premiere date has not yet been announced.
We promise: You’ll be enthralled by Susan Lynch’s powerful performance as Catherine Doyle in Red Roses and Petrol. Perhaps just as compelling is the actress’ mesmerizing Irish accent and her take on the making of the film. Check out her behind-the-scenes video on www.redrosesandpetrol.com.
On a related note, Radio Irish’s Sean McCarthy had such an extensive interview with Olivia Tracey that it didn’t all fit into her Red Roses and Petrol video segment. Curious about what else the former Miss Ireland had to say about her transformation into the complicated Moya Doyle? Visit www.redrosesandpetrol.com for the intriguing transcript.
