Renowned acting coach Robert Easton — known to Hollywood as “The Dialect Doctor” — plays the geezer who was dragged from the Dublin pub to Enda’s wake in Red Roses and Petrol. The talented man will be returning to the screen soon as a personal guru in the upcoming comedy, The Ones. In it, a struggling scribe (played by writer/director/star John Romo) hears of a female friend’s plight to find her Mr. Right and creates a bogus dating service in order to make some fast cash.

This October, Max Beesley’s (Johnny Doyle) new BBC series, SURVIVORS, will debut in the UK. In it, the Red Roses and Petrol star plays Tom Price, a prisoner whose survival skills are called upon following a viral outbreak. Word has it that the drama will reach BBC America at a later date.

Next, Greg Ellis (Tom Ivers) lends his voice to the role of Alister Fletcher in the videogame, Tomb Raider: Underworld. In the November 18 release, Lara’s Croft’s new adventure will take her around the world, exploring ancient underworlds and battling unearthly foes. Visit  http://www.tombraider.com for a sneak peak.

After his successful run on the BBC’s HOTEL BABYLON, Red Roses and Petrol’s Max Beesley is set to star in a new drama. When he returns to the BBC, he’ll star on SURVIVORS, an action adventure show about a deadly virus that infiltrates the world’s population. In the series, which is a re-imagining of the classic mid-70s cult favorite (and similar to A&E’s THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN) Beesley plays Tom Price, a charming, capable prisoner for whom freedom and survival become paramount. A premiere date has not yet been announced.

In Red Roses and Petrol, Max Beesley’s character, Johnny Doyle, is a unique mixture of all three. Although beloved by his sisters, the playful bad boy who refused to grow up was also the subject of his parents’ grave concern. Is there someone in your family who usurps all the attention? According to the Manchester Evening News website, Red Roses And Petrol’s Max Beesley and Emmy-winner Gub Neal will co-produce a film called Mr. Goodnight. Described as a “gangster movie,” the story will be set in Manchester, England, in the 1960s and will be shot in and around the city. In addition, Beesley will play the lead character (an amalgamation of four people from that time), and his close pal, Ray Winstone, will co-star as a police inspector. “It’s a subject I know quite a lot about, through coming from Manchester,” offers Beesley, whose jazz drummer father worked there at a cabaret club and is helping to provide research.” It’s not just a gangster flick. It’s a love story with a few hijackings and robberies thrown in for good measure.” The movie, which is in pre-production, does not yet have a date to begin principle photography.

Red Roses and Petrol’s Max Beesley stars in the upcoming miniseries, The Last Enemy. In it, he plays opposite Benedict Cumberbatch and BAFTA-winner Anamaria Marinca as a man caught up in a love triangle. But don’t expect this mysterious thriller to turn into a romance; the five-part drama takes an intriguing look at how modern technology could turn Britain into a surveillance society! Shot in London in early 2007, The Last Enemy will air in the UK in mid-February on BBC One and will make its stateside debut this fall as part of PBS’ in Masterpiece Contemporary showcase.
